At home Tony has his own studio facility which he uses to compose and to record his own music as well as other artists. The studio is built around a powerful customised computer which runs a sequencing program called E-Magic Logic audio Platinum. This is regarded by the vast majority of professionals as the best program of it's type and is certainly vastly superior to Cubase or Cakewalk. This allows Tony to record 64 tracks of CD quality audio per song and also allows the complete control of the various samplers and synthesisers that are used along side the guitars during production. One of the powerful aspects of Logic audio is that it allows you to run plugins, such as virtual instruments or effects. These allow sample accurate timing and are totally programmable. One of the best of these is the ESX 24 Sampler which runs within Logic. It allows quick and accurate sample editing and has high quality playback along with various adjustable filters to change sounds.

Tony also uses E-Magic audiowerk 8 soundcards which offer high quality recording and playback as well as allowing 16 simultaneous analogue outputs. This is important as Tony uses a Soundtracks analogue mixing desk to control levels and eq when recording and mixing.

Tony also uses a program called Sawplus which is a wav editor. This is a great program for editing wav files and for cutting up samples to be used within ESX 24. It is great for regionalising audio and very quick to use. He also uses this to record things such as live keyboards or a single guitar track. More details can be found here.

Tony uses a Steinberg program called WaveLab for mastering tracks before putting them on CD. This has really good EQ onboard and again is great for editing. It also allows output to a variety of standards while maintaining quality.

Other equipment that Tony uses includes EMU Samplers and Synths as well as various outboard effects units as well as a variety of software plugins which work with different applications.
