Tony uses and endorses Musicman Guitars and Ernie Ball strings. The particular model that he plays is the "Axis" which is based on a design by Van Halen. It has a birds eye maple neck that has an oil finish and has been rubbed to give a "played in" feel to it. The body is made from basswood and has a figured maple top. The pickups are Di Marzio Humbuckers which are very powerful and ideal for rock tones, but clean up well when the volume is reduced without loosing the treble content. The tremolo system is a Floyd Rose double locking design and so tuning stability is good.

These guitars are very well designed and manufactured. Things that are often overlooked such as a straight string pull and a really solid but unobtrusive neck join have been incorporated into the design. The neck is extremely comfortable and fast and the whole guitar is well balanced. You can hear what they sound like by downloading some tracks on the music page.
