Tony Hallinan’s melodic, instrumental rock guitar compositions immediately grab the listeners attention. Tony is a gifted composer with an ear for a catchy melody, perfectly complimenting the fire in his solos and improvised material. Elements of Tony’s style are reminiscent of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert and Jeff Beck. Tony began playing at the age of six and by the age of fourteen had achieved grade eight in classical guitar by which time he had begun to perform professionally as a session guitarist.

To subsidise his emerging career, Tony taught guitar and experimented with jazz, blues and rock, quickly learning note for note solos as material for his students, many of which, went on to work professionally. Tony has worked on many commercial sessions over the years, as well as numerous elements for network television. Tony’s more recent credits include music for "FRIENDS" the top American sitcom, the feature film "EVITA" starring Madonna and Willam Defoe,s"THE BOONDOCK SAINTS" WHOOPI GOLDBERG'S "GHOSTS OF THE PAST" ,"SPIDERMAN" ," TEAM AMERICA ". In addition, Tony’s music is used frequently in sports and motoring television shows both here and abroad. To-date Tony has released five library albums of scorching rock guitar compositions and is currently working on a new album of blistering classic rock guitar compositions for imminent release. As well as working all over the world,Tony also has his own studio in which he writes new material. He also often records a top studios in Britain and abroad and can work with a wide range of equipment including Neve and SSL desks with which he has engineered and produced many sessions.

Tony occasional has some time to teach advanced private lessons and we have included some short exercises in the lessons section of this site. He also hopes to produce interactive lessons which will become available on CD ROM as well as online in the near future.
